Information and tools for heritage education
Australia's heritage is our national cultural inheritance. It is the most valued places which we wish to protect and conserve for future generations. Heritage education is one of the most important mechanisms available to share the heritage message. Heritage organisation and agencies across Australia have developed resources for teachers (including lesson plans), students, researchers and the community to learn about and engage with heritage.
Australian Government
An interactive education program featuring Australia's World Heritage
Places has been developed for students in years 5 - 10 which focuses on
World Heritage values and Australia's 17 World Heritage places. The aim
of this program is to inspire students to explore our unique World
Heritage listed places and develop an appreciation of heritage values.
An understanding of heritage places in Australia and their significance
in the world will encourage young people to appreciate them and help
preserve them for future generations.
